Hilary Swank Talks New Film “New Year’s Eve” & Being An Actress
Hilary Swank Talks New Film “New Year’s Eve” & Being An Actress with Gotham magazine for their December 2011 issue. The 37 year old actress can be seen blowing a kiss on the front cover of the magazine and having a playful, yet classy photoshoot with photographer Brian Bowen Smith. During the interview the actress talks about her new film and how she wanted to be an actress since she was 8 years old.
Swank spoke about her new film and what it is all about. She stated, “It’s called New Year’s Eve. Essentially, the idea behind the movie is every year we get a second chance to do better, to do more, to forgive, to love more, to give more.”
When the interviewer asked if she was scared about anything in her life, the actress was happy that she was asked that question. Swank revealed, “Then I really must be a good actor! I love that you asked, because I go after things the way that I do because I am scared. I go gung-ho and dive in because it’s my way to be prepared, physically and mentally. My fear control mechanism is to be overly prepared.”
Swank began acting at an early age of 8 years old when she was casted in a part for a theater play. Swank knew at that age she wanted to become an actress. Swank explains, “When I was eight years, I was playing Mowgli in The Jungle Book, and I knew I wanted to be an actor. Then later, my mom was at a crossroads in her life and she said, ‘If you really want to do this, we should go to California.’ And my mom and I picked up and went to California.”
Last night the “New Year’s Eve” co-stars attended the Hollywood premiere of the show at the Grauman’s Chinses Theatre. Ashton Kutcher, Katherine Heigl, Alyssa Milano, Lea Michele, Zac Efron, Ludacris, Sofia Vergara, and all the rest were of attendance for the premiere. Directed by Garry Marshall, who also directed the 2010′s “Valentine’s Day,” features this movie taking place in New York City where a group of people are intertwine in a quest of finding love, fresh starts and hopes.
