Mary J. Blige performed last night at the PAPER’s 7th Annual Nightlife Awards event. She performed an all time favorite “Real Love” along with a future favorite “25/8″. The PAPER’s 7th Annual Nightlife Awards took place in New York City at the Hiro Ballroom at the Maritime Hotel. Celebrities that attended included Wendy Williams, Estelle, Swizz Beats and Anderson Cooper.

During a previous post Mary J. Blige 2011 New Album ‘My Life II, The Journey Continues’ it was said that the 2011 Album would be released on September 20th. However, since then she has had to push back the release date which is now scheduled for November 21, 2011. During an interview with MTV News MJB had this to say regarding her new album, “Right now, it’s going in the Mary direction, which is R&B and hip-hop and soul…If it goes into the club direction, it will probably be more soulful than futuristic.”

Mary J. Blige has been on the music scene since 1992 and has released more hits then we can keep track of. MJB is the only artist that has managed to get Grammy Awards in R&B, Pop, Gospel and Rap categories. She was ranked among the Top 100 greatest singers of all time by Rolling Stone. She has had eight albums go multi-platinum.
Seventeen years after the release of her album “My Life”, Mary J. Blige is ready to release its sequel “My Life II, The Journey Continues”. MJB’s 2011 album is scheduled to be released on September 20th. The album contains songs with featured artist Kanye West, Swizz Beats, Lil Wayne, Diddy, Stargate and Danja. The first single “Someone to Love Me (Naked)” released from the album “My Life II, The Journey Continues” has already become a hit. The new album is going to take us to the present and into the past with the occasional visit to the past from what we’ve heard.
Mary J. Blige had this to say; “From me to you, “My Life II” … our journey together continues in this life. It’s a gift to be able to relate and identify with my fans at all times,” says Blige, who recorded the album in New York and Los Angeles. “This album is a reflection of the times and lives of people all around me.”
